Dominic A Villa
Dominic A Villa K3 Lead Engineer Dominic founded the Formula SAE Electric program at Santa Clara University which provides a platform for electric vehicle research and education. He spearheaded the team formation and attracted a group of 20 engineers passionate about the electric vehicle space. Dominic designed an electrical powertrain (300V, 85kW battery pack) and led the systems integration synchronizing the battery pack, battery management system, motor and motor controller. At Renovo Motors, Dominic supported the team on wide range of engineering projects in order to accelerate the completion of the prototype vehicle. He designed the dashboard including detailed CAD models utilizing Solidworks and produced multiple iteration of the design using a CNC router. He also deisgned and manufactured a battery/motor loading system for the prototype vehicle. Dominic graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2013. In 2014, Dominic participated in Santa Clara University's CAPE program for entrepreneurs.
