Dimitrios Kavvathas, who was most recently Co-Head of Asia Pacific, ex-Japan Securities Distribution and Asia Pacific Head of Structuring at Goldman Sachs, will be based in Hong Kong.
He was a Member of the Board of Directors at Goldman Sachs, Asia who left the firm in January. He first joined the bank in 2001 and became a partner in 2008. Kavvathas joins VTB Capital at a time when it is expanding in Asia Pacific. He will be responsible for managing, expanding and further developing the bank's sales, trading and origination capabilities in the region, according to a statement from the company.

VTB Capital has hired Dimitrios Kavvathas as Head of Global Markets for Asia Pacific.
According to a company statement, he will be based in Hong Kong and responsible for managing, expanding and further developing VTB Capital's sales, trading and origination capabilities in the region. Dimitrios joins the Russian investment bank after retiring from Goldman Sachs, Asia at the beginning of the year. He most recently worked as co-Head of Asia Pacific, ex-Japan Securities Distribution and Asia Pacific Head of Structuring at the Wall Street firm. Additionally, he was a member of the Board of Directors. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2001 and he held several senior positions, including his promotion to Partner in 2008, until his January 2013 retirement.
