Daylon James, PhD
Daylon James, PhD Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College Dr. James developed a method for visualizing and tracking endothelial cells, cells that line the interior of blood vessels, and ultimately, he identified a chemically defined medium that provides a major advantage over previous appraches in yielding endothelial cells that can be used for transplantation. By doing so, he created a ready supply of cells that could be used to treat and prevent cardiovascular disease, as well as offer insight into the networks that underlie the development of blood vessels. He is continuing his work in his independent role at Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed his postdoctoral studies at Weill Cornell in Dr. Shahin Rafii's lab.
