David Lowden Secretary Mr. Lowden is a Special Counsel at the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP in New York City with a practice in the fields of corporate and not-for-profit corporation law. He holds a law degree from Duke University (1974) and an undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College (1971). He has long been active with The Craftsman Farms Foundation, Inc., a New Jersey nonprofit corporation that preserved and is operating the home of leading American Arts & Crafts exponent Gustav Stickley as a house museum, where he has been legal counsel, a trustee, Chairman of the Board, emeritus trustee, and the winner of its Als Ik Kan award, which is awarded to persons who have "made a significant contribution to Craftsman Farms and the revival of the Arts and Crafts Movement. He curated several exhibitions at Craftsman Farms, including "C. R. Ashbee and the Guild of Handicraft: An English View of the Craftsman Ideal," in 1994, "William Morris and the Printed Page: English Influence on American Book Design" in 1996 and "Bradley: His Look: The Graphic Designs of Will Bradley" in 1997. He also collects Arts & Crafts-era books and graphic art. He has been Chair of the Art Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
