Heard from World Radio Telecommunications' owner Dave Hindman, who approached council regarding telephone service.
Hindman said the village has been "gracious enough" to let his company take care of its phone service for more than a decade, and he does not want to lose the business. He said he read where council wanted Comcast to be its telephone provider in order to save money, and he informed council members the village still is under contract with him until November. Council and Chappano said they will reconsider, but explained to Hindman the contract signed in 2006 by former Village Administrator Joe Pierro is not legal.

More than 400 local athletes from 13 area programs joined Dave Hindman of World Radio Telecommunications to pray for a rain-free day.
"We say this prayer every year, and it always works so let us ask the clouds and rain to stay away until these Special Olympics are completed later today," intoned Hindman.
