Craig Victor, a top-50 prospect coming out of high school a year ago, has left Arizona midway through his freshman season in search of a new school and more playing time.
OSU appears to be on the list of possible landing spots for the 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward. The Cowboys have obvious draws: available time for a power forward, with Michael Cobbins and Le'Bryan Nash playing out their careers as seniors and nobody else currently fitting the description on the roster; and the presence of freshman point guard Tyree Griffin, who played with Victor with the New Orleans Elite on the AAU circuit. The Cowboys appear to be in the mix for 6-8 power forward Craig Victor, who is transferring from Arizona. The New Orleans Times-Picayune, citing sources, includes the Cowboys in a list of five schools considered potential destinations for Victor, along with LSU, Tulane, Ohio State and San Diego State. Victor signed with Arizona out of Findlay Prep, a preparatory school in Nevada, where he played his senior season of high school ball after transferring from St. Augustine High in New Orleans. With Findlay, which collects star talent, he averaged 13.7 points and 8.6 rebounds, shooting 61 percent from the floor. In the national recruiting rankings, he was pegged at No. 37 by ESPN, No. 40 by Rivals and No. 42 by Scout. Victor played in eight games for Arizona, averaging 3.1 points and 1.1 rebounds. His minutes have been blocked by upperclassmen and the Wildcats have recruited a five-star power forward for next season. Without a hardship waiver, Victor wouldn't be eligible for his next team until the conclusion of the 2015 fall semester.

Elite Hoops Report: Johnson puts on dominating performance

Power forward Craig Victor continues to focus on playing on the interior to success.
Victor has been a solid scoring and rebounding threat around the rim, and he is playing hard. He's starting to add strength to his previously lean frame, and the ability to play with power has been beneficial.
