Rev. Corky DeBoer received certification as an ACPE Supervisor from ACPE, Inc. in 2006.
He also received certification as a Board Certified Chaplain from the Association of Professional Chaplains in 2012. Rev. DeBoer began his supervisory training at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in 1999, and continued this at Advocate Christ Medical Center in 2000. He has served as Manager of Spiritual Services at Advocate Christ Medical Center since 2007. Rev. DeBoer received his Master of Theology (pastoral care & counseling) from Calvin Theological Seminary in 1993; his Master of Divinity from Calvin Theological Seminary in 1985; and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Calvin College in 1980. He is an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church of North America, which has also endorsed him for specialized ministry. Prior to coming to Advocate, Rev. DeBoer served for thirteen years as the Minister of Congregational Life at Orland Park Christian Reformed Church. Rev. DeBoer has been involved in disability ministries for over 25 years, which has included ministry at Bethshan Association, coaching baseball and the building of Challenger's Field, a handicapped accessible baseball field. Some of his hobbies include fishing, golfing, and following collegiate sports, especially March Madness. .
