Clayton Cunningham
Ballet Teacher Clayton is originally from Cork, Ireland, and has lived in the United States since 2002. He began his training at the English National Ballet School. Upon graduation he danced with the English National Ballet Company, under the direction of Matz Skoog. He also danced and trained summers at Chautauqua Ballet under the direction of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Violette Verdy (of the Paris Opera Ballet) and Patricia McBride (of New York City Ballet). At 19, he moved to the U.S. to be a founding member of the newly reformed St. Louis Ballet, in St.Louis, Missouri where he spent almost six seasons under Gen Horiuchi, former principal dancer with New York City Ballet. In 2008, he was offered a principal dancer position with Omaha Ballet Theatre until 2009.

Mr. Cunningham studied ballet as a student at Laine Theater Arts, Chatauqua Institute and English National Ballet School. He has danced professionally with Metropolitan Ballet and Academy, Omaha Ballet Theater and guested with Ohio Dance Theater. Clayton Cunningham Clayton Cunningham Clayton Cunningham is originally from Cork, Ireland. His training began in the Paris Opera Ballet School at the age of 8. He then moved to London, at 11, to join The Royal Ballet School. At age 15, he became a member of the English National Ballet. In 2001, Clayton accepted an offer to join the St. Louis Ballet in the U.S. and danced with the company until 2006. Clayton has danced roles in a myriad of classical and contemporary ballets including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Romeo & Juliet and American in Paris. His warm personality and down-to-earth teaching style is bound to draw anyone into a true love of classical ballet. Clayton is very much looking forward to joining the teachers at the Dance Academy this season.
