Clayton Black
Clayton started as the Chief Of Police in February 2016, he is excited to take on a new challenge in his law enforcement career. Clayton was most recently employed as a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper where he spent three years working in the San Juan County area. Prior to being a state trooper he served thirteen years with the Sandy Police Department working in various capacities including, patrol, investigations, SWAT, FTO and training. Clayton graduated with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Southern Utah University in May 1999, starting his career that same year. Clayton enjoys working with the youth in the community coaching high school football, and volunteering as a scout master. In his free time Clayton can be found in the outdoors taking advantage of living in the country, shooting, hunting, hiking, four-wheeling, fishing and the list goes on.
