Dr. Christopher Papagni is a Partner in Bradmer Foods and a leader in culinary leadership and business development.
With 17 years of experience in the culinary field, Chris has managed a diverse portfolio of responsibilities for international, national, and local clients. As Executive Vice President of New York's International Culinary Center (formerly the French Culinary Institute), he led the expansion of the school into new cuisines (Italian, Spanish), locations (Campbell, California, Parma, Italy and various locations throughout Spain). In addition, Chris developed various new programs such as restaurant management, hospitality services, entrepreneurial studies, and recreation courses. Chris managed all academic departments, L'Ecole (the restaurant of the ICC), compliance, student affairs, the Italian study abroad program, and the school's 501(c)3 (The Friends of FCI-a formidable culinary scholarship foundation). Chris led the school through three successful re-accreditations; with the school receiving numerous Excellence awards. While there, he co-authored Love What You Do: Building a Career in the Culinary Industry with food visionary Dorothy Cann Hamilton and educational consultant Lisa Cornelio. Chris has been quoted in numerous news outlets including Crain's New York, The Bangor Daily News, The Portland Daily Sun and Maine Today. Throughout his career, Chris has remained active in a number of charitable and professional organizations including serving as a trustee on the IACP Culinary Trust Board of Trustees, a member emeritus of the James Beard Foundation's Program Committee and an Advisory Committee member of Spoons Across America. He has a PhD from New York University, a Master's from The University of South Carolina and a BA from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
