The BBC today announced the appointment of sports presenter Chris Hollins as the main sports presenter on BBC Breakfast. Hollins, who will leave his current role as a sports presenter on BBC News 24, takes over from Rob Bonnet.

Chris Hollins is currently the main presenter of the sports bulletins on BBC Breakfast. He assumed this role in October 2005, after being one of BBC News 24's main sports presenters. Chris joined BBC Sport as a presenter in 1999. Chris has covered many major sporting events for the BBC including the Football World Cup. Prior to working at the BBC, he worked at GMTV, Meridian and Channel 5. A talented sportsman himself, Chris has played cricket and football to a high level and is the only BBC News 24 presenter to have scored a century at Lords.
