Bob Shinkan Inducted into the class if 2015
We are proud to announce that one of those new members include Bob Shinkan. Here is a short profile of his accomplishments. Coach Shinkan has been working in the baseball coach's box for 26 years. He played and coached under Mike Niksic, a 1996 Hall of Fame inductee. There have been only two head baseball coaches at Munster High School. Bob has a record of 583-291-1 in his tenure at Munster. Bob's wins have taken his Mustangs to nine Sectional titles, four Regionals, one Semi-state and a State Championship in 2002. Bob has also won 9 Conference titles. Bob was the 2002 State Coach of the year and can count 15 other local and conference Coach of the Year awards. He was a North All-Star coach in 2001 and has been very involved in work on various IHSBCA committees. Nine of his players have been selected as North All-Stars, 10 of his players have earned All-State honors while 21 have been named to the All-Academic teams. Four of his players have played professionally.

Bob Shinkan
Coach Shinkan has coached at Munster High School since 1975. He has been coaching football for since 1982, the an assistant on the varsity staff since 1985. Coach Shinkan is a 1971 graduate of Munster High School where he played football and baseball. Coach Shinkan is a graduate of Ball State University where he played baseball his freshman year and received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics in 1975. He went on to receive his Masters degree in secondary education from Purdue University in 1985. In his tenure at Munster High School, Coach Shinkan has coached many sports. These include girls track, volleyball, and boys and girls basketball. Coach Shinkan has also coached baseball at MHS since 1981, head baseball coach since 1984. In 2006, Coach Shinkan was named the Ball State Alumni Baseball Coach of the Year.
