Garlo won't be next Tequesta chief of policeVillage Manager Mike Couzzo Jr. interviewed McCollom and Connolly on Monday and Tuesday, and received Assistant Village Manager Bob Garlo's letter of withdrawal the day before his scheduled Wednesday interview. Garlo had worked with the police department for 25 years and served as assistant police chief to Allison. He is a Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation team leader who helped Tequesta's Police Department become accredited.Three years ago, he became assistant manager.His responsibilities include everything from public works and capital projects to development matters. "I always had desire to be the chief, and I've always known that law enforcement is a very special profession and something that is kind of in league of its own when comes to professionalism," Garlo said.
