Posted: 10:19 am EDT May 20, 2009 Updated: 10:23 am EDT May 20, 2009 After stops in Florida, Arizona and Texas, Autumn Sam is happy to return to the "Peach State." A graduate of Norcross High School, Autumn was a two-time Georgia All-State selection and played basketball at Clemson University. Upon graduation, Sam worked as an assistant women's basketball coach at Liberty University and Georgia State University. Including an ACC Championship won with the Tigers, Sam has racked up four conference titles and has made five NCAA tournament appearances during her tenure on the hard court. Autumn got her start in broadcasting as host of the Women's Basketball Show at Florida State University, where she served as a graduate assistant for the women's basketball team. She has also worked as a color analyst covering Conference USA women's basketball, and has done play-by-play for girls' basketball on MetroSports. Prior to joining the WSB Sports Team, Sam worked as a weekend sports anchor/reporter at KVIA in El Paso, Texas. Autumn won an AP award for Best Sports Coverage at KSWT in Yuma, Arizona. But she's most proud of completing all 26.2 miles of the San Diego Rock 'N Roll marathon in 2005. Sam's not the only athlete in the family. Her brothers P.K. and Lorne were standout athletes at Buford High School, and both currently play in the NFL. Autumn earned a B.A. in English from Clemson University, and a M.S. in Sports Management from Florida State University, but learned the fundamentals of broadcasting while taking courses at the Florida A&M School of Journalism. Autumn is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The National Association of Black Journalists.
