The Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) is a Malaysian owned and operated company. It is part of an international Adventist network of some 600 non-for-profit hospitals, clinics and dispensaries worldwide. PAH is the first non-for-profit private hospital in Malaysia. It was established in 1924 by an American missionary doctor, Dr. J. Earl Gardner. From its humble beginnings as a “free clinic”, it has grown to become a tertiary healthcare institution equipped with 254 beds including 10 ICU beds, 9 HDU beds, and another 28 beds at the Adventist Oncology Centre. Today, the hospital is supported by 85 specialists and offers more than 25 specialisations using up-to-date medical equipment and facilities.
