Anja Williams
Anja Williams Assistant Children's Minister Anja is a native of Los Angeles, California but has now made Atlanta her home. She has a passion for the arts and social justice and a heart for serving others. She has combined her ministry passions into her work as a freelance creativity and marketing communications consultant and experience producer for churches, non-profits, and cause related organizations. Anja believes in the power of the arts to educate, to communicate and to inspire. As well, she believes in the power of the arts and creativity to facilitate connections with God. To that end, Anja was the producer of Complicated Freedom, a multi-media production performed by local artists in support of women re-acclimating to society from the GA state prison system. She has also served as the Creative Programming Director for Impact UMC to facilitate spiritual formation of attendees. And, she was a founding member of the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Development, Inc. - the co-producer along with the Alliance Theater - of the regional version of the Collision Project for youth, a summer theater arts camp. Anja is a graduate of Spelman College and holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and an M.Div. from Candler School of Theology with a focus on Theology and the Arts. Very early in her life, God used a Sunday School teacher to teach Biblical principles and to introduce her to Christ. This introduction preceded a very powerful and personal encounter with God, one of the most formative experiences of her life. That experience is what leads Anja to value the time spent pouring into the lives of children and teaching them about Christ. Personally, Anja enjoys reading and playing tennis, running, and working out in her spare time as well as taking in cultural experiences and travel. She also loves trying out new recipes in the kitchen, volunteering, writing and creating designs and videos on her computer.
