After a first degree in Literature, Amy studied International Business and Technology and has subsequently spent most of her working life in a variety technology businesses and consultancies. She is currently a Business Development Director at KPMG UK. KPMG has recently boosted its Smart Energy team with the appointments of Amy Marshall as a Director in the firm's Power & Utilities practice and Dimitrios Petropoulos a Principal Advisor in the firm's Cyber Security team.
Marshall will be tasked with the business development of the Power & Utilities practice, while Petropoulos will be tasked with developing cyber security for the same practices' offerings. Amy Marshall Amy Marshall started her career at Marconi working in Commercial & Contract Management, she worked at the company for four years. In 2003 she moved to Synstar as a Contract Manager working at the company for around a year. In 2005 Marshall started as the Head of Contract Management at Cable & Wireless, she worked at the company in diverse positions as she climbed the ladder, leaving the company as Director of Smart Utilities after six years of service. In 2011 she became the Director of Business Development at Engage Consulting, a role she held for two years. Amy Marshall, KPMG Marshall brings her 15 years' experience in the utility technology and services, and utility consulting arenas to KPMG. As a Director in the firm's Power & Utilities practice, she will be tasked with business development in new and emerging sub-sectors of the Power and Utilities arena. Commenting on her appointment, Marshall says, "I am looking forward to bringing my experience of business development in the Utilities sector to KPMG to capitalise on the opportunities in the market and develop market strategies for clients." Marshall joined from Engage Consulting where she was a director of business development, working with Engage's experts to advise clients in energy and utilities. Marshall's remit at KPMG includes business development in new and emerging sub-sectors of the power and utilities sector, including smart meters and smart grid. Energy storage will also be in her remit. Storage, and the emerging trend toward smaller scale storage, such as community energy, among other emerging business models, are seen as a key component and enabler of the smart grid. Before Engage, Marshall was director of smart utilities at Cable and Wireless, with responsibility for global smart grid and smart metering markets.
