Amber Kasten, Au.D. Amber Kasten, Au.D. / Doctor of Audiology Dr. Kasten Dr. Kasten joined the Institute in 2017 after completing her externship at the James Haley VA hospital in Tampa. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language-Hearing from the University of Kansas and her Doctorate of Audiology from Northwestern University in Illinois. Since she suffered from chronic ear infections and subsequent hearing loss as a child, Dr. Kasten had a lot of interaction with audiologists, which inspired her career choice. She began gearing herself towards a medical career in high school. Dr. Kasten is a Fellow through AAA, board certified in audiology, a certificate holder in audiology precepting, a member of the National Hearing Conservation Association and the American Auditory Society. Her professional strengths include diagnostics and amplification, tinnitus evaluation and treatment, as well as vestibular evaluations, to name a few. She is active in philanthropy and served as a mentor for Million Women Mentors, working with 5th grade girls interested in STEM careers. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking with her dog, biking with her husband and redecorating her home.
