A special meeting of the City of Jackson Airport Commission was held in Council chamber of City Hall on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:00 P.M., with the following persons present: Richard Hample, Paul Clymer, Fred Bern, Airport Manager/FBO Paul Sanders, City Administrator Jennifer Feely-Bromeland, Recording Secretary Steve Walker, Alan Hoffert, FAA Safety Team Program Manager, Dave Maschoff from KKOJ/KRAQ and Justin Lessman from the Jackson County Pilot. (See attached list of additional members of the public who were in attendance.) (A quorum of the Commission was not present.)
Alan Hoffert, FAA Safety Team Program Manager for Minnesota, formally presented Richard Hample with the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. Mr. Hoffert explained that this special award is given by the Federal Aviation Administration in recognition of those pilots who have demonstrated professionalism, skill, and aviation expertise, as was first established by Orville and Wilbur Wright.
