Description:

White Oak Swimming Club (WOSC) was founded in 1967. It is a friendly and relaxed club with a convenient set of training schedules (i.e. no sessions starting at 6 am.). WOSC caters for swimmers of all ages and abilities, from commplete beginners to National Standard swimmers. We have a well-qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic coaching team and train at White Oak Leisure Centre, Hilda May Avenue, Swanley, Kent, BR8 7BT. We have several squads to suit swimmers needs and abilities, and we compete in several leagues: the Millinium; the Kent Junior; Arena; and the White Horse leagues. Our swimmers compete in the complete range of Open Meets from Level 3 Short Course Sprint and Delevopment Meets up to Level 1 Meets in 50 m pools (Long Course). Finally, club swimmers are encouraged to qualify for and swim in the ASA Championships at County, Regional and National levels. All Committee members are parents of swimmers, and can be found on the parents' viewing balcony in many training sessions. Issues and suggestions can be raised directly with Committee members at any time. Club nights are every Wednesday evening. This is where committee members and helpers are on hand to meet parents, answer any questions, and discuss any issues that may arise. There is also a club shop every Wednesday selling swimming hats, T bags and other items. We run the ASA Badge Scheme for developing swimmers where badges can be achieved for swimming distances in certain times . We have four Club Championships each year, and monthly time trials for younger swimmers. For further information about joining the club please contact the Membership Secretary: ( memberssecretary@wosc.co.uk).
