Who is Sitepak

Founded in 1995, Sitepak develops and deploys software that helps telecommunications companies and ISPs broaden and profit from their service offerings for the SME market. Sitepak's flagship product, Onsite Hosting Controller (OHC), provides a single standards-based point of integration from which to leverage existing infrastructures and optimize internal resources, making hosting profitable. Sitepak's founders Eileen Goldfarb and Laurent Pelletier were early converts to the belief that the Internet would open unprecedented new business opportunities to small and medium-sized enterprises. They understood that having a workable online presence would provide SMEs with the way to discover and sell into new markets, while optimizing and streamlining their business processes. In 1993, when the commercial Internet was just beginning, Sitepak's founders had already developed an online capability for establishing virtual booths at trade shows. That software, with its early intuitive control panel features, was a precursor to the Sitepak products of today. In 1996, Sitepak software was implemented as the underlying technology for the company's ASP model business, which provided Web designers with the tools they needed to establish an Internet presence for their SME clients. With features including real-time visitor tracking and e-mail management assembled within an easy-to-use, integrated interface, Sitepak attracted a large number of customers, ranging from small to major enterprises, including Coca Cola Bottlers in Atlanta and Bell Canada International. These clients provided the company both a revenue stream and a source of ongoing feedback that helped Sitepak engineers develop and refine the software and control panel technology central to Onsite Hosting Controller. By 1998, Sitepak executives recognized that they would rather enable profitable hosting for the growing number of companies building out datacenters than be a service provider themselves. So, with the knowledge that their solution was customer-tested ...Read more
