Description:

CORSE offers integrated recreational programs in collaboration with Scituate Recreation: "All Stars" sports programs throughout the year and summer "All Stars" socially-based recreation camps. Special summer programming has included working with nationally recognized organizations such as AccesSport America and Lose the Training Wheels. CORSE brings AccesSport America to Scituate for an innovative week-long specialty camp to provide skill-building experience in water sports: sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and paddle-boarding. The camp provides specialized instructors and equipment from AccesSport America, a national, non-profit founded in 1995 that inspires higher function and fitness for children and adults of all disabilities through safe entry to high-challenge sports. CORSE brought "Lose the Training Wheels" Bike Camp in 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2015 for a week-long camp that teaches children how to ride a two-wheeler. We were the first and only group to bring this program to Massachusetts for two consecutive years. Community organizations have also collaborated with CORSE to provide customized sports and recreation programs. Programs have included: Booth Hill Farm for Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Funtastics for customized gymnastics classes, Xplosion Dance Center for dance class, Healthtrax Fitness Club for swimming through instructor Lauren McGonagle and Scituate Youth Center for Tennis through Aceing Autism.
