Sahuaro Band is a program consisting of 2 concert bands and 1 jazz band. Students are encouraged to work hard and strive for excellence on an individual an ensemble level. The groups take regular trips in and out of Arizona. They also get to work with incredible musicians such as Grammy-nominated trumpet professor Jens Lindemann, Director of Jazz Studies at CSULB Jeff Jarvis, and Innovative Percussion Artist Nathan Medina to name a few. Sahuaro students have the opportunity to perform for many events outside of school including: opening of multiple stores, Holiday celebrations at Fellowship Square, and birthday parties. Students are also given the opportunity to play with the orchestra creating a full symphonic orchestra. They also get regular visits with instructors from the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps, and more.Read More
