Pono

We offer reduced tuition and payment options based on need (see sliding scale section below). Our goal is to be open to all. It is important to note that while meals are not included in the tuition, the meals program is mandatory because it is an integral part of the community building and learning process at Pono. Meals, like other aspects of life... and learning at Pono, will emphasize the importance of respecting the environment and our health as we cook organic, natural, wholesome and nutritious meals then commune together. A year round calendar fits best with the Pono mission and philosophy. Also, we believe, this schedule reflects a more natural timetable for the children. The year round schedule that we follow requires that we have 9 weeks on and 3 weeks off (or 45 days on and 15 days off) throughout the whole year with a slightly longer time off in the summer. Our only criterion for admission is that the parents support Pono's philosophy and want to participate in our Community. We strive to maintain diversity of gender, ethnicity, nationality, race, ability, religion, and income in our Community.
