Who is Old Town Rotary
It was a beautiful day for golf at Hidden Meadows. We held our Annual Golf Tournament Saturday at Hidden Meadows Golf Course, the weather couldn'thave been better! The funds raised by this tournament will help support our charitable activities throughout the year. We couldn't have accomplished this without the support of our community. As a club, we have a lot to be grateful for. Thank you to all the local businesses that sponsored holes and donated raffle prizes! Thank you to the teams that participated, we hope you had as much fun as we did! Thank you Andrew and the rest of the staff at Hidden Meadows for all of your assistance and support! Last but certainly not least, thank you to our Rotarians and volunteers that pitched in to make this event a success! See you all next year! Corina and Robin sold raffle tickets for the many prizes that were donated by area golf courses and local businesses. Mary Marin Taylor of the Literacy Volunteers of America spoke to Rotarians at our regular meeting on August 19. Douglas Curtis Jr., District Governor, Rotary District 7790, spoke to the Rotary Club of Old Town at its regular meeting on August 12. The Old Town Rotary Club was able to help Hirundo Wildlife Refuge out on August 12 with a new dock and wharf so the kids are better able to enjoy this pond! And wouldn't you know it, as soon as we finished a group of kids arrived and got a lesson on leeches, of which there were an abundance! The Old Town Rotary Club had the honor of hearing The Donut GroVe 's first presentation at our weekly meeting on August 5! Their story was inspiring and their donuts were amazing! We wouldn't be surprised if they see some new faces at the Bangor Farmers Market as a result. We would also like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughtful donation. We enjoyed having you all, please come back anytime! Rotarians took a road trip for our meeting on July 22, visiting DR Disc Golf in Orono .
