Norton Community Medical Associates West Broadway opened in the new Republic Bank Foundation YMCA in Louisvilles West End. This practice serves adu lts and children and helps deliver on Norton Healthcares commitment to improve access to health care in West Louisville. Norton Healthcare, UofL Physicians Pediatrics and the UofL School of Medicine officially signed a definitive agreement for affiliation in October after first signing a letter of intent in June. This partnership combines resources to strengthen and enhance medical care for our regions children. Norton Healthcare opened eight new retail health clinics at Walgreens stores across Greater Louisville. Norton Prompt Care at Walgreens locations offer convenient care with extended hours. Norton Healthcare announced it will contribute $5 million to the Louisville Urban League to build a multiuse sports and learning facility in West Louisville. The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center will include seating for 4,000, track and field space, a learning lab, outdoor event space and community green space. Norton Healthcare was named the official health care provider of the University of Louisville Cardinals. Russell F. Cox, president and CEO, Norton Healthcare, was named one of the Most Admired CEOs in the Louisville area by Louisville Business First. Norton Womens & Childrens Hospital had record-setting months for the number of babies born, with 537 in July and 543 in August. Norton Brownsboro Hospital celebrated 10 years of community service. When it opened in 2009, this now award-winning facility was the first new hospital in Louisville Metro in 26 years. With the support of the Norton Healthcare Foundation, Heel, Dog, Heal Norton Healthcares facility dog program grew to include nine facility dogs in 2019. Facility dogs are specially trained, employed staff members who partner with a handler to work in a health care or educational setting.
