Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society

The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society (NAGS) was founded in 1971 by a group of local genealogy enthusiasts. The objectives of our society are to promote research in genealogy and to help preserve historical records. NAGS serves the counties of Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington in Northwest Arkansas. The Society meets on the 4th Monday o... f the month, 6:00 P.M., January through November, at the Bentonville Public Library, 405 South Main Street, Bentonville, AR. We are proud to maintain a sizable and growing collection of genealogical materials and records in the Bentonville Public Library. Our volunteers staff the William Enfield History & Genealogy Research Room in the library and answer research requests. The Backtracker, a quarterly publication published by the Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society, has been in continuous publication since 1971. We primarily publish content relating to Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties in Arkansas but also welcome items of interest from other areas.
