Merewether Investment Management LP was founded by Rod Saddington on April 2, 2018. The firms strategy is an energy specialized long-short fund investing in equities across the entire energy value chain, including global upstream, services, midstream, refining, utilities, energy linked industrials, renewables, new fuel sources & any disruptive busi... ness models to 'traditional energy'. In order to understand the entire energy value chain, we strive to understand the rate of adoption or penetration of new energy sources and their effect on 'traditional energy'. The strategy combines what we believe to be detailed quantitative review of the upstream analyzing hundreds of fields and thousands of type curves to with the goal of understanding the realized economics and inventory of assets and companies. We combine this with an understanding of physical commodity markets (Oil, Nat Gas, NGLs, Basis markets) with the aim of identifying mis-pricings in the public equity markets. We apply this analysis to the entire energy value chain as we seek to understand which companies are extracting 'margin', with asymmetric value not recognized or priced by the market.
