Who is Kran Film Collective
Kran Film has been established in 1998 in Copenhagen by students from the European Film College, initially as a platform for discussion, production and presentations of films. The collective was founded as a reaction to an increasing hegemonic media landscape with very little place for art. However, the political climate in Europe and its hostility to emigration made furthermore the collective deice to expand and become an international network in 2007. Between 2008 and 2010 KranFilmSpace on Place St. Gerry, in the heart of Brussels, screened more than 35 programs containing more than 116 films. All the films presented as well as films produced by Kran Film members are archived within our space and available for public by appointment. From 2011 Kran Film focuses on distribution and presentation of films and building a new program to be launched from 2012. Kran Film has been collaborating with SARMA, Rits School of Art, KASKA-dko Antwerp, Platform+, 98weeks Beirut, Casa Vecina Mexico, and established contacts with Argos, Cinematek, Cinema Nova, 68septante, BAMart, Courtisane and Beursschouwburg Brussels among other. The core of the Kran Film are Lasse Lau, Goran Petrovic, Rie Hougaard, Sarah Vanagt, Sophie Hamacher, and, Alfredo Cramerotti, Morten Dall and 30 members more.Read more
