Who is Kings Crossing Church of Christ
Kings Crossing is committed to growing. We want to grow in our dedication to God and in doing so, to grow in the ways we minister to our members an d to the world around us. In 2016, our Shepherds, having spent much time in prayer and conversation with members, laid out our Vision 2020. In 2006, the Windsor Park Church of Christ moved to the south side of Corpus Christi and became the Kings Crossing Church of Christ. God has blessed us richly in our time here. In December 2016, we were successful in paying off the mortgage on our existing building, and we had a great celebration with a ceremonial mortgage burning. That was one step, but we believe God still has big plans for our congregation. In September 2016, having spent much time in prayer and in conversation with our members, the Shepherds laid out our VISION 2020. At the root of our vision are several core values. These are: Above all: To lead as many to Christ as we can, helping one another to grow in our faith until Christ calls us home. We want to be a church that stays focussed on Jesus. Doing all things in Christ and for Christ keeps us united on the right foundation. Colossians 1:17-18 We want the diversity of households in our congregation to be valued and strengthened. We want to work as a family, where each person is encouraged to use their unique gifts in God's service. John 13:34-35, I Corinthians 12:18-20 We want to cultivate a mission mindset among our members. Colossians 4:5-6, 2 Peter 3:9 We want to build a foundation for the church of tomorrow. Psalm 78:5-7, Hebrews 12:1 Building on these core values, we have prayerfully tried to imagine what these core values would look like in our congregation if we took them seriously. The results of our dreaming are the following goals we have prayerfully committed ourselves to over the next five years.
