Glendale Memorial Occupational Medical Group and its sister clinic, ProHealth Medical Groupare staffed by fulltime physicians and physician assistants who specialize in occupational medicine and urgent care treatment. Our providers belong to most medical provider networks (MPNs), selectively chosen by worker compensation insurers and self-insured employers and approved by DWC's administrative director to treat workers injured on the job. As occupational medicine specialists, our physicians thrive to return injured workers to optimal level of function and comfort, while maximizing work productivity and curtailing cost. Several of Medical Directors are Medical Review Officers (MRO), and are qualified to perform DOT, PEP, PAT, and Fit for Duty Evaluations. Our Medical Directors Are: Soheil Sean Younai, MD, FACS, QME: Dr. Younai is a native of Southern California who received his Undergraduate and Medical Degree from UCLA, followed by specialty training at UC San Francisco, University of Pittsburgh, and Harvard Affiliated Lahey Clinic in Boston. Since 1999, he has functioned in the capacity of a treating physician and surgeon, as well as a Qualified Medical Examiner, in the field of occupational medicine & Hand Surgery. In this capacity, he has earned the reputation of a respected treating clinician among many national, as well as local, employers in the greater Los Angeles area, San Fernando Valley, Glendale, Irwindale, Oxnard, and Bakersfield. He has been known for his hands on approach, close communication with employers, and knowledge of workers compensation laws. Besides medicine, Dr. Younai and his family are very involved in charitable organizations in Southern California. Peter Chiang, MD, MRO: Dr. Chiang has lived and practiced medicine in Southern California since 1999. Dr. Chiang was a recipient of a distinguished medical scholarship when he received his Medical Degree from the Loma Linda Medical School. He then received his Board Certification in Family Medicine at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Since then, he has functioned in the capacity of a Medical Director, Physician Trainer, and Medical Review Officer (MRO) at the largest Occupational Medical Group in Los Angeles. In the course of his occupational medicine practice, he has received the "Physician Leadership Award", and has been elected as a Preferred In-Network Provider for many of the worker's compensation insurance carriers. Dr. Chiang is fluent in Chinese and Taiwanese as well as medical Spanish and uses his great communication skills to build a rapport between employers, employees and insurance companies. Thomas Hanson, MD: Dr. Hanson and his family have lived for many years in Glendale, Pasadena, and neighboring towns. He received his Masters of Science from Texas A&M University, followed by his Medical Degree from the University of Texas at Galveston. Dr. Hanson completed General Surgery Internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, followed by a distinguished multi-specialty and occupational medicine career in Southern California, since 1993. As an occupational medicine specialist, he has served as a Medical Director of the City of Los Angeles Occupational Health Division; as well as that of several large Occupational Health establishments in the greater Los Angeles area. Dr. Hanson is respected for his broad knowledge in Occupational Medicine, Orthopedics, and Urgent care evaluation and treatment.Considering his long carrier in Southern California since 1993, he is well known and liked by many city and county employers and employees.
