Currahee Military Museum

Starting June 25th the museum will open Thursday, Friday and Saturdays only. Admissions to the museum will be 10am to 3pm. No entrance after 3pm. Volunteers and Staff will observe Covid social distancing guidelines while visitors are in the museum or gift shop. Stephens County Historical Society Board of Directors would like to thank the public, members, volunteers, and supporters, for concerns of the museums future during this current order of quarantine. The museum is dependent on visitors, admissions, membership dues, gift shop sales and donations to continue operations and preservation of its collection of artifacts and memorabilia. Since we depend of visitors from around the globe to visit on a regular basis it is critical to prepare for the current and future of the collection. With travel restrictions in place it will take the museum longer as a small business to bounce back from this economic decline. We respect and are saddened by the seriousness of the health and loss of lives locally and around the world. As an organization we committed to serving our community, Stephens County Historical Society is taking this action of temporary closing help slow the rate of infection and mitigate the risk that COVID-19 poses our staff, volunteers, visitors and their families. With this said we are uncertain when the quarantine ban will be lifted. Our focus is to keep the facility at its previous state of financial sustainability, protect the exhibits and collections, and to open the doors to the public when the travel ban is lifted.
