Since 1998, the Colorado Interior Design Coalition has been working with designers across the state to promote advocacy efforts for our industry. We aim to provide a singular voice for legislative matters for all interior designers. Over these years, our not-for-profit, volunteer based organization seeks out sponsorship dollars and donations to help cover our operating costs. The CIDC Board of Directors is asking for your continued support of our organization. Each year we evaluate the legislative landscape and determine short term goals, as well as continue to push toward long term goals. In 2012, the statute where Colorado's "permitting statute" was evaluated during the Sunset Review of the Architectural practice act. This statue, which allows certain interior designers meeting a list of criteria to submit documents to the building department for review for permitting, has essentially been left unchanged and is still contained within the Architectural practice act. One of our major efforts over the past several years has been to seek enhancing our Permitting Statute with a registration component to make the system easier for designers to use, clear for building officials to recognize so the statute can be utilized the way that CIDC originally intended. CIDC supports all interior designers in the state and follows the ASID and IIDA Legislative Policies as our main guidelines for any legislation. Your financial contribution to these efforts ensures that interior designers are recognized at a State level. CIDC promotes efforts that enable designers to practice to their fullest extent. Your sponsorship or donation, along with our dedicated volunteer efforts from our Board and our Membership will allow us to maintain our lobbyists, help offset operating costs, and ensure that Interior Designers have a voice at the Capital. We value your support today and in the future and appreciate your consideration to help this cause! Should you have any questions, please reach out to Katie Cavallo, CIDC Past President or Cristen Lueck, Treasurer.
