The Childrens Aid Society of Ottawa (CASO) is non-profit community organization funded by the Government of Ontario, legally mandated to protect ch ildren and youth from abuse and neglect. The CAS is regulated by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and governed by the Ontario Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA) . We are committed to ongoing learning, building on strengths, and reflecting research and best practices in our work. We recognize the uniqueness of each child, youth, family and community and provide services that respect their cultures, traditions, race and social identities. We recognize the strengths and resilience of Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban Indigenous Peoples) and their historic relationship with child welfare. We commit to providing culturally informed services and to support First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban Indigenous Peoples in improving the lives of their children, youth and families. We work collaboratively and build partnerships with children, youth and their families, communities and service providers to improve outcomes for those we serve.
