Who is Chickasha Public Schools

The Chickasha Public School Foundation (CPSF) was created in 1985 and incorporated in 1986 to provide additional educational opportunities for Chic kasha Public School students. In 2011, CPSF will celebrate it's 25th anniversary. The original founders were Kenneth Glazier (former Chickasha Superintendent of Schools 1985-1988), Veda Bush, Loretta Jackson, Robert Hays, John Mosley, Jerry Kirkpatrick, Dr. Alan Weedn, Beverly Carter, Carroll VanDyck and Dan Ramsey. Many caring area residents have served the organization as members of the Board of Directors from that time to the present. The first major contribution was a $5,000 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Chickasha, and over the next year private citizens, organizations, and businesses in the area donated an additional $15,000. Through generous ongoing contributions of citizens, organizations and businesses, investments have grown today to approximatley $1,000,000. In 2006 a new milestone was reached in the history of CPSF. The board hired it's very first employee. Roddy McKenzie was hired as development director and began putting procedures in place to get the foundation records and history organized. He also began the tremenendous process of laying the ground work for a sustaining membership campaign. Roddy educated the community about the Foundation and worked diligently to publicize the efforts of the Foundation and it's work with the schools. He was a tremendous asset while he served the foundation. Due to health reasons, Roddy's service ended in June 2008. In February, 2009 the Board hired an Executive Director to follow in Roddy's huge footsteps and to carry on the work of the Foundation. In March 2009 another milestone was reached and twenty three years from its inception, CPSF opened its very first office in the CPS Administration Building at 900 W. Choctaw, Chickasha, OK.
