Banco Fortaleza SA was founded in 1993 as a savings and credit cooperative. In 1997, after its integration into the Fortaleza Group, the institution began a process of strengthening its management through a work program that culminated in 2002 with the transformation of the entity into a Private Financial Fund. The change to Private Financial Fund... allowed Fortaleza to achieve a strategic position, taking full advantage of its integration into a financial group, with stock market operations, investment fund management and insurance, focusing its business on the small and medium-sized business and personal segment. The Bank subsequently incorporated new strategies aimed at transforming and consolidating the institution as a banking entity. Thus, after an arduous process of adaptation and evaluation by the Financial System Supervisory Authority, in 2011 it obtained authorization to transform into a Bank, and at the end of 2012 it obtained the license to operate as a bank.
