Who is American Valley Community Services District
American Valley Community Services District is governed by a ten person elected Board of Directors. These Directors determine the policies and set the agenda for the District. The Board appoints a General Manager who oversees the day to day operations of the District. Under the direction of General Manager Jim Doohan, nine full-time employees provide the water and wastewater services for the American Valley. A member of American Water Works Association, California Rural Water Association, California Special District Association, California Water Environment Association, and North Cal-Neva Resource Conservation & Development. American Valley Community Services District (AVCSD) is actively monitoring guidelines from county, state, and national public health officials regarding the novel COVID-19 virus. AVCSD is committed to providing safe water and wastewater services to our customers in a responsible manner. At this time, we are focused on the health of our employees and the public by minimizing any unnecessary contact while maintaining critical services. In compliance with the Order issued by Governor Newsom, the following changes have been made to AVCSD services and activities. The office is closed to the public until further notice. Customers are encouraged to conduct business by telephone, email or mail. The District can be contacted by calling (530) 283-0836 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Board of Director meetings will be via teleconference. The published agendas will include the call-in number. Members of the public are strongly encouraged to participate via teleconference. District tours and non-critical meetings have been cancelled until further notice. We appreciate your understanding during this time.
