Alberta Home and School Councils' Association (AHSCA) is the provincial association for parents on school council. Committed to enhancing student success through meaningful involvement, the association advocates positive change in public education from the parent perspective. Opportunity for parent input is through school council and AHSCA provides programs, resources and services to promote and support school council effectiveness. A not-for-profit society, the association is governed by an elected, 15 member volunteer Board of Directors representing parents from across Alberta. Parents are members through their school council and province-wide membership includes rural, urban, public, separate, charter and francophone schools. Recognized as the voice of parents in public education, AHSCA presents the parent perspective to government and partners in education. Parents influence legislative, policy or program changes through AHSCA committee representation, policy revisions and partner inclusion.
