quality-matters.ca is part of an initiative launched by Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA). The goal of this initiative is to create a quality university experience for Ontario students by advocating for increased government support for post-secondary education. OCUFA was formed in 1964 to express the views of university academic staff to the government and the public. Today, the organization is made up of 23 faculty associations across Ontario representing more than 15,000 university professors and academic librarians. OCUFA's mandate is to maintain and enhance the quality of higher education in Ontario, and to advance the professional and economic interests of teachers, researchers, and librarians in Ontario universities. OCUFA strives to achieve these goals through a variety of approaches, including meeting with government and community representatives on a regular basis, implementing an extensive internal and external communication plan, and providing statistical and research support for faculty negotiations.
