Brazilian born, Marco Raposo studied bow making at the university of New Hampshire, in the United States, and decided to establish his workshop in the high mountains of Brazil's Atlantic Forest, in the village of Domingos Martins - ES, home of the precious Pernambuco wood - Pau-Brasil. "Marco Raposo Bows", established in 1995, manufactures the finest quality bows for violin, viola, cello and bass, for professionals and advanced students. Our goal is to assure quality to our customers and protect the environment. The company operates a sizable production facility and manages a large neighboring area of forested land, which will eventually serve as a perpetual resource for the enterprise. We maintain a policy of sustainable development and work closely with forestry officials to ensure that it will continue to grow in an environmentally sound manner. Our company has a worldwide presence, but counts the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan among its strongest markets. We have recently established an office in New York City, to better serve our customers in the US and Canada. The mission of Marco Raposo Bows is to inspire conservation of the forests.
