At Health in Mind, we promote positive mental health and wellbeing in Scotland. If you use our services, volunteer, work with us or take our training courses, we want you to benefit from the knowledge and experience we bring to our work. We are a people-centred organisation. This means that helping people reach their potential is at the heart of what we do. With the introduction of Self-Directed Support (SDS), you can be in control of your own support. Find out more here. Many of our services began as a response to people saying their needs were not being met. That meant carrying out research to understand the issues. It meant telling people what we had found out and developing practical solutions. Our information service came about in this way. Our work with BME groups and childhood sexual abuse survivors did so too. Besides these, we provide support, respite and befriending services. We can also provide housing support in a number of ways. This can mean support in your home or a place in one of our supported flats. We also have day services and counselling/talking therapies - face to face and on the telephone. So when you use our services, you're also getting access to a wealth of skill and depth of understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Our values are important to us and we hope that they come across in all that we say and do; we have a positive approach and try to be flexible, creative and caring in all our work.
