Description:

Atlanta Fire-Rescue is distributing radon test kits through the City of Atlanta Radon Elimination (CARE) program, an initiative that will piggyback on their current Atlanta Smoke Alarm Program (ASAP). On Saturday, September 11th, the department will distribute radon kits at the Atlanta Braves game to the first 1,000 attendees. Also, firefighters and volunteers will give out free radon test kits during their once-a-month neighborhood canvassing, in addition to checking and maintaining smoke alarms. Since implementation of the CARE program, approximately 400 radon test kits have been distributed throughout various Atlanta communities. Additionally, the test kits will be available to community members at the 30 fire stations within the city of Atlanta. The radon grant will fund the department's purchase of over 1800 kits.
