Dr Pun is a senior lecturer and the co-ordinator of Industrial Engineering research group and programmes in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Trinidad and Tobago.He is a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Marketer in the UK and a Registered Professional Engineer in Europe, Australia, Hong Kong, and Trinidad and Tobago.He is currently the designated Chairman of the Engineering Management Chapter of the IEEE Trinidad and Tobago Sub-section (2003-).He is a member of the Editorial Board of the West Indies Journal of Engineering (2002-) and the Asian Journal on Quality (2002-).

Dr Pun is also a reviewer of several journals including the International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management (1999-) and Supply Chain Management: An International Journal (2003-).He had completed several research projects funded by UWI and other overseas universities and governments.
