Received her BFA - Dance at the University of Hartford, and obtained her Certificate in Dance Teaching at the School of the Hartford Ballet.Ms. Matos had the opportunity to work as the Director of several prestigious ballet organizations and schools including the Hartford Ballet School and the Educational Program Dancing with Disabilities.She has been a teacher for the St. Vincent Hospital for the Children with Special Needs Center I Connecticut, the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and for the Very Special Arts Connecticut.

Jo MatosReceived her BFA in Dance from the Hartt School of the University of Hartford and certification in Dance Teaching from the School of the Hartford Ballet.She was trained by the New Vision dance project of the Alvin Ailey School to work with children with disabilities.

Ms. Matos has held the position of Director for several prestigious ballet organizations in the Northeast , including ; coordinator of the Dance Division of the University of Hartford , Education Director for Dancing Day , an organization designed to bring dance to a mixed-ability population and as Associate Director of the School of Hartford Ballet's Dance Program for City Youth..

Ms. Matos' dance company Dancing Day has performed throughout New York and New England.The company's performances include appearances at the World Special Olympics , International Festival of Arts and Ideas , White Oak Dance Project , and The International Wheelchair Dance Festival.

Ms. Matos was honored by the mayor of the city of Hartford with a citation for Outstanding Public Service to the young people of Hartford.She is the recipient of numerous grants including the Connecticut Jaycees and Very Special Arts.She is a member of the National Dance Association , Florida Dance Association and is pursuing a masters degree in Dance Therapy for the American Dance Therapy Association.

Jo Matos (School Director) has 30 years of experience as a dancer, teacher, choreographer and administrator with such prestigious institutions as the University of Hartford's Hartt School, Dillard Center for the Arts in Fort Lauderdale, and the Hartford Ballet.She has performed with the Dance Now!Ensemble in Miami Beach, Florida, Connecticut Ballet Academy, Hartford Ballet, and Hellenic Dance Ensemble all in Connecticut.Ms. Matos has choreographed works for the City of Hollywood Youth Theatre in collaboration with Marvin Hamlisch, in Florida and the World Special Olympics Opening Ceremony in New Haven, Connecticut.
