Earl King is Vice President and Branch Manager of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.He has 16 years of experience in the investment industry.In his eight years at Schwab, he has helped investors at every stage of building their financial security from starting portfolios to trading online to planning for retirement.
He has led seminars and information sessions at meetings of the Chicago Pan Hellenic Council, American Association of Individual Investors, Illinois Independent Finance Association, and Money Magazine.King has presented financial workshops at national conferences of African American Women on Tour, Black Expo and the Coalition of Black Investors.Recently, he taught investing to elementary school children at the Johnnie Coleman Academy, members of the South Chicago Swim Club, and the WVON-AM Radio Youth Financial Seminar.
At Schwab branches in Little Rock, Arkansas, Chicago, Oakbrook and Winnetka, Illinois, King has led investment management, and customer service.Currently working as Vice President and Branch Manager at the Lincoln Park branch in Chicago, King specializes in trusts and estate planning, fixed income strategies and retirement services.He regularly counsels customers and coaches brokers to service them.He was selected to serve on Schwab's initial National Diversity Task Force.
King has served as a Commissioner of the Grayslake Economic Development Board, member of the Lake County Board Minority Affairs Task Force, hosted a weekly NAACP community affairs radio program, and co-convened the year 2000 Lake County Leadership Roundtable.In Chicago, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce and Community Services West--a network of three West Side alternative schools and community agencies.
Earl has been a dedicated volunteer in Schwab-sponsored programs to benefit the community including Habitat for Humanity, AIDS Walk, Chicago Cares, Terry Fox Run for Children's Memorial Hospital, Illinois Storytelling Festival and Liberty Prairie Conservancy.He has been recognized by the Chicago Jaycees for achievement in the field of finance.
