Born in the UK 1946, Tim started his career in retail management (F W Woolworth), finally serving as group director for Bomford Delicatessen.In 1995 he moved to Ghana to launch an exhibition sales and management company, Expo Promotions.He has launched a number of new exhibition brands in Ghana, including all AITEC's Ghana events.

Mr Tim Gros, General Manager, AITEC Ghana, said Ghana had not only become an ICT tourist destination in the sub-region and beyond but also an ICT investment destination.

He observed that the benefit of ICT in rapid socio-economic development of doing business under low-tech condition was no longer an option.

Mr Gros, however, urged government and development partners to tie their developmental programmes to ICT to ensure accelerated economic growth.

Tim Gros, General Manager of Expo Promotions, announced these on Tuesday at a preview of the week in Accra.So far, 17 local companies have registered to participate in the fair and there are spaces for a few more.

He said there would be foreign participation from Nigeria, South Africa, United Kingdom and Dubai.

Gros said the Ideal Home show would target the growing middle income consumers and there would be an international seminar for the building and construction industry while the Auto Plus show would be for the auto components and accessories industry.

He said Ghana is an attractive starting point to access other West African markets, adding that the country has developed enormously over the past five years in almost every sphere of the economy and, notwithstanding, the present economic difficulties, building and construction is still a major market sector.
