French , CELA, received the 2006 Laury Adsit Gelardi UnAward for his untiring work in developing and completing NAELA's Aspirational Standards for the Practice of Elder Law.Gregory joined NAELA in 1989.He served on the NAELA Board of Directors 1990-1997 and was Treasurer during some of that time.He was elected back onto the board for the 2005-2007 term as a director.In 2003, then president, Bill Browning appointed Gregory as Chair of the Professionalism & Ethics Committee and Stu Zimring made it one of his prime objectives during his presidency.

    Gregory S. French is one of 48 attorneys nationwide who have been elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the highest honor that NAELA bestows upon elder law attorneys.He also has been awarded the Paul Lichterman Award for Outstanding Achievement in Legal Services for Older Americans, presented annually to one individual across the country who has made enduring contributions to the field of law and aging.

    Gregory S. French has served on the Board of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and on the Executive Committee of the Board and has chaired its Long-Range Planning, Public Policy, and Continuing Legal Education Program committees.He is an original member of the National Elder Law Foundation's Board of Certification and helped the Board to develop its American Bar Association accredited program to certify qualified attorneys as elder law attorneys.

    Gregory S. French helped found and chaired the Ohio State Bar Association's Elder Law Committee for three years, served on the State Bar's special Committee on Specialization, and now is an elected member of the State Bar's Council of Delegates.He was one of six attorneys appointed to draft Ohio's model health care decision-making directives, and he also served on the blue ribbon committee appointed by the Ohio Supreme Court to implement the recommendations of the Ohio Legal Needs Study.

    Gregory S. French founded the Cincinnati Bar Association's Elder Law Committee and served as its Chair for four years.He also has served on the Bar Association's Ethics Committee, the Board of Trustees' Community Services Committee, and the Estate Planning and Probate Committee.
