SDI WELCOMES DONALD ZOUFAL AS SAFETY AND SECURITY INDUSTRY EXECUTIVE
Adds 20 Years In-depth Industry Expertise to Firm's Aviation and Government Security Business
CHICAGO, June 19, 2008, SDI (System Development.Integration, LLC.), a systems integrator focusing on mission-critical systems and infrastructure of capital asset intensive organizations directly impacted by Homeland Security issues and property ownership responsibilities, today announced that Donald Zoufal has joined the company as its safety and security industry executive.
Zoufal brings more than 20 years of experience in state and local government experience to SDI.
During this time, he has managed the development of emergency and homeland security strategy and policies, as well as coordinated federal, state and local support for city emergency plans and operations.
In his new role, Zoufal will contribute in-depth technology, operational and legal thought leadership and operational best practices to SDI's growing aviation and government portfolios of business.

Prior to joining SDI, Zoufal held a variety of high level public safety and security positions, most recently serving as special assistant to the director of Illinois Emergency Management Agency, who also serves as acting homeland security director for the State of Illinois.
Zoufal retired from the City of Chicago in 2007, where he was first deputy for the City of Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC).
In this position, Zoufal provided oversight for all emergency and homeland security planning for the city, coordinated federal, state and local support for city emergency plans and operations, and supervised emergency operations in response to a range of all-hazards events.
Prior to joining the OEMC, Zoufal was the deputy commissioner for safety and security for the City of Chicago's Department of Aviation, where he developed and implemented an aviation security strategy for O'Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport.
Mr. Zoufal has also served as chief legal counsel for the Illinois Department of Corrections and general counsel for the Chicago Police Department.
He is currently a legal advisor to the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and has taught as adjunct faculty member for the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois and the John Marshal Law School.

Zoufal received his bachelor's degree in history and political science, master's degree in public administration and jurist doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Zoufal also recently completed a Department of Homeland Security sponsored program with the Center for Homeland Defense and Security and was awarded a master of the arts in security studies from the prestigious Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. In addition, Zoufal currently holds the rank of colonel in the U. S. Army Reserves.
As a military officer with over 29 years of service experience, he has had a range of assignments, including, several command positions and extensive service as a strategic planner.
