Mr. Zottoli is the lead sector executive and President of the Internet Group at Spencer Trask, a rapidly growing private equity capital organization.Mr. Zottoli personally screens hundreds of Internet and E-commerce deals annually, and has been instrumental in the funding and management of several new economy companies.He is an active board member of many of the Spencer Trask portfolio companies, at times taking on the role of Chairman or interim CEO.
From 1990 to 1998, Mr. Zottoli was the head of the Financial Information Services (FIS) Division of Moody's Investors Service.Mr. Zottoli transformed FIS from an almost 100 % print reference manual business to a dynamic global electronic publisher of CD-ROM, real time, data feed and Internet financial information products.After establishing FIS as a modern electronic publisher, he led the successful effort to sell the business.
Prior to managing FIS, Mr. Zottoli was Executive Vice President for the Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Financial Information Services Group, with responsibility for the North American operations of Moody's, Datastream, and Interactive Data.Mr. Zottoli joined Moody's Investors Service, a division of D&B, in 1984 as Director of Information Services.
Prior to joining Moody's, Mr. Zottoli held positions as consultant and acting general manager for BFC Marine Services and Director of Management Information Systems for Prudential Lines, Inc.Mr. Zottoli started his career in 1969 with GRC Data Corporation where he was a 30 % owner and Director of Systems.
Mr. Zottoli has been a member of the Information Industry Association, the Securities Information Association, the Special Libraries Association, and other industry groups.Mr. Zottoli has also been a speaker on technology and information topics, authored articles for several trade publications, and appeared on the television program Strictly Business.
Mr. Zottoli obtained his M.B.A. in Finance and B.B.A. in Marketing summa cum laude at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y.
