Karyn Elizabeth Zittel, daughter of Eric and Tammie Zittel of Albany, was a member of concert, symphonic, marching and pep bands, and sang in concert and a capella choirs.

Karyn participated and accompanied other students at the Solo/Ensemble Contest and was a state champion with the Science Olympiad.Her high school classes included advance placement American history, chemistry, English and calculus, as well as fourth-year Spanish and anatomy and physiology.She was a member of the Spanish Club, Band Council and Badminton Club.Karyn is a member of the youth group at Hill Street Church of Christ.She received the DAR Good Citizen Award, English Merit Award, John Phillip Sousa Award and certificate of initial mastery.She was a P.E.O. Finalist, Girls State Citizen 2003, TAG student, Rebel of the Month and drum major.She participated at the Western International Band Clinic and was a member of the Honor Roll and National Honor Society.
